DSDS 2013: Bill und Tom Kaulitz machen im Interview eine klare Ansage
Bill und Tom verraten, warum sie sich für die DSDS-Jury entschieden haben
Die zehnte Staffel von "Deutschland sucht den Superstar" startet am 5. Januar 2013, um 20.15 Uhr bei RTL. Diesmal gehören die Zwillingsbrüder Bill und Tom Kaulitz neben Mateo von Culcha Candela und Dieter Bohlen zur DSDS-Jury. Im Interview verraten die beiden, warum sie sich entschlossen haben, Teil der Jury von "Deutschland sucht den Superstar" 2013 zu werden und geben den Bewerbern wertvolle Tipps.
Was hat euch veranlasst, den Job als Juror bei DSDS anzunehmen?
Wir haben die letzten Jahre versucht, uns komplett aus der Öffentlichkeit rauszuziehen, um ins Studio zu gehen und uns vor allem mal eine Pause zu gönnen. Dieses Jahr hat es bei der Anfrage von DSDS einfach gepasst und wir können es neben der aktuellen und fortlaufenden Studioarbeit gut realisieren.
Tom: Bisher haben wir alle Angebote dieser Art abgesagt.
Bill: Wir haben aber auch immer gesagt, wenn wir irgendwo Juroren werden, dann bei dem Original und der größten Sendung.
Tom: Den allerletzten Anstoß hat uns dann Steven Tyler gegeben, der ja letztes Jahr in der amerikanischen Version von DSDS (American Idol) Juror war. Wir finden es genau richtig, dass Castingformate auf echte Künstler als Juroren setzen und so eine andere Ernsthaftigkeit und musikalischen Anspruch bekommen.
Worin seht ihr zwei den Erfolg von DSDS?
Bill: Ich glaube, es ist die Show mit der hochwertigsten Produktion und die, die dem Gewinner die größte Plattform für einen kommerziellen Erfolg gibt.
Tom: DSDS hat schon fast etwas Traditionelles. Es ist das klassische Castingformat und wird sich deshalb wahrscheinlich immer durchsetzen.

Was muss der zukünftige Superstar mitbringen?
Bill: Wenn es passt, dann passt es! Ich werde ihn sofort erkennen, wenn er oder sie vor mir steht. Grundsätzlich will ich aber starke Charaktere, Individualität und Wiedererkennungswert!
Tom: Im Übrigen würden wir uns über weibliche Bewerber mit viel Talent echt freuen. In Deutschland gibt es zu wenig gute Künstlerinnen!
Welche Tipps gebt ihr den Bewerbern?
Tom: Allen Mädels kann ich sagen: Zieht euch etwas Kurzes an! Dann habt ihr es schon halb geschafft! Das ist eine Männerjury. Allen Typen: Bleibt zu Hause, wenn ihr nicht singen könnt!
Bill: Bereitet euch gut vor, ich habe keinen Bock auf Textpatzer oder darauf, Melodien zu erraten. Sucht euch den Song aus, den ihr am besten singen könnt und nicht den, der am schwierigsten ist.
Werdet ihr strenge Juroren sein?
Tom: Ja!
Bill: Zumindest werde ich versuchen, ehrlich zu sein.
Freut ihr euch auf eure Kollegen?
Tom: Ja klar! Das wird bestimmt ganz lustig. Dieter Bohlen steht ja für DSDS. Mateo kennen wir nicht, lassen uns aber gerne überraschen. Wir waren so lange nicht in Deutschland und geben uns jetzt mit DSDS noch mal die volle Ladung, bevor wir dann wieder mit der Band wer weiß wo unterwegs sind.
Bill: Wir freuen uns darauf, mit Dieter Bohlen die zehnte Staffel DSDS zu machen.

the tenth season of “deutschland sucht den superstar” starts on 5th january 2013, at 20.15 clock on rtl. this time, the twins bill and tom kaulitz are besides mateo of culcha candela and dieter bohlen a part of the dsds judges. in the interview, the two reveal why they have decided to part of the judges of “deutschland sucht den superstar” 2013, and provide valuable advice to candidates.
what motivated you to accept the job as a judge on dsds?
bill: we have tired in past years to pull us out completely from the public to go to the studio and especially to take a break. this year, the request of dsds just fit, and we can realize well, next to the current and ongoing work in the studio.
tom: so far we have canceled all such offers.
bill: we have also always said that if we are judges somewhere, then in the original and the biggest show.
tom: the very last kick has given us then steven tyler, he was last year a judge in the american version of dsds (american idol).
why do you think dsds is so successful?
bill: i think it’s the show with the highest quality production and gives the winner is the biggest platform for commercial success.
tom: dsds has almost something traditional. it is the classic casting format and therefore likely to prevail.

which skills/talent the new superstar should have?
bill: if it fits, it fits! i will recognize him immediately if he or she stands in front of me. basically i want however strong characters, individuality and recognition!
tom: in addition, we would be happy to female applicants with genuine talent. in germany there are not enough good female artists!
what advice do you give to candidates?
tom: to all the girls i can tell you; put on something short! then you’ve already managed it half! this is a man’s jury. all guys: stay at home if you can not sing!
bill: prepare yourself well, i have no desire to hear lyrics fails or to guess melodies. pick out the song that you can sing best and not the hardest.
you’ll be strict judges?
tom: yes!
bill: at least i‘ll try to be honest.
are you looking forward to your fellow judges?
tom: of course! that will be quite funny. dieter bohlen stands for dsds. mateo we do not know, but we’re curious and look forward. we weren’t in germany for a long time and give us now with dsds again fully charged before we’re again with the band who knows where the road.
bill: we are looking forward to be a part of the tenth season of dsds along with dieter bohlen.
